As an entrepreneur, executive, author, and multitasking machine, Jarrod somehow balances running a company (hi eeva!), multiple jobs, a personal life, and home management—without combusting (that we know of.)

How does he do it? We asked, and he answered.

The secret to managing it all

“Ever since I was young, I’ve been antsy. I have to do something, or I get bored very quickly. The day-to-day grind of work was never challenging enough for me, regardless of the position I had. As such, I’ve always had multiple jobs, projects, etc. Managing my home life with all these other activities is not easy at all.”

The secret to keeping his life from descending into pure chaos?

“I live and die by my calendar—without it, I wouldn’t be able to keep tabs on anything.”

And for everything else?

“I use the Notes app on my phone for literally everything, and I adore it because it ties into not only my iPhone, but also my iPad, and Mac. So I can take notes in meetings and have it seamlessly sync across my entire tech ecosystem.”

His lifeline? A structured routine and a calendar that rules his life:
📆 Monday–Friday = Traditional workdays
📌 Saturday = Flexible “free workday” (often eeva-related)
🛒 Saturday evening = Grocery run
🌿 Sunday = Friends, family, social time (after working till noon)
🌙 Every night = One hour of wind-down time

“Any deviation and things start to fall apart quickly—either with my energy or having events slip through the cracks.”

The Adulting Epiphany—and why eeva had to keep up

Jarrod lives by strict systems, but there was one big gap: home information management.

“The one area of my life that is not as strict as everything else is the data storage side. I don’t have a centralized way to maintain the home’s information. As such, whenever something breaks, I have to manually go and search for information. This might be in junk drawers, on the appliance itself, etc.”

That’s when it clicked: eeva had to solve this.

“I really started to appreciate the potential of eeva once I looked at my own life and realized where the gaps were.”

“I truly believe my ridiculously insane lifestyle is helping make eeva be all that it can be—because in order to truly keep up with me, it has to incorporate everything I already use.”

The “Oh Crap” moment that proved even he needed eeva

Ever tried to replace a 20-year-old window blind? Yeah, not fun.

“One of my bedroom blinds stopped working. It was one of those paper hex pull blinds that allows the sun to come in. I’ve had these since I was in my 20s and love them. One of the strings inside the blind broke, so it went completely off-kilter.”

So he went on a mission to find the same ones. Easier said than done.

“Try finding a blind that’s over 20 years old. I know they still make them, but good luck with that. It took ages to find a decent match, and even then, it wasn’t perfect.”

If eeva had existed back then? No wild goose chase.

“With eeva, I could have logged what I bought, when I bought it, and from where—so that I could have easily replaced it. Alas, eeva didn’t exist back then. But let me tell you, I certainly logged the new blinds into eeva!”
