Development Diary #1 — Is there a better way to manage your home?

I gather finding the likes of you here means you’re a fellow home manager and organizational enthusiast like me. Yes? No? Well either way, welcome! This will be the first edition of our Development Diaries, where we spill the beans on the exciting journey of building eeva, the first people & home management ecosystem built with you, your home, your family, and your life in mind. We're really excited to have you on board as we embark on this adventure together. It’s a wild journey, but Jarrod and I know it’ll be worth it! And we think you might too…

Frustrating Realizations

So let's cut to the chase. I want to address the challenges that come with managing a home. Have you thought about that before? All the things you have to keep on top of in life? Trust us, we know first hand how difficult it can be to balance your home and your life. Keeping track of calendars, activities, tasks, and important information can be a real hassle. When I purchased my first property a few years ago, it slowly became my home as I dealt with a TORNADO of things I needed to track down and keep track of. I was frustrated and burst out, “there’s gotta be a better way!” I couldn’t find a good solution to my problem, so… I’m creating one. That's exactly why we set out to create a solution that streamlines these aspects to bring harmony to your home and life. 

Meet: eeva 💙

Our incredible development team has been working round the clock to craft a user experience (UX) that's smoother than a fresh jar of peanut butter. We want our app to be your trusty sidekick, making home management a breeze without all the stress and headaches.

Facing the Challenges

Now, let's dive into the specific challenges we tackled head-on during the ideation process. We have been determined to address the real pain points that have left you scratching your head and muttering, "There's got to be a better way!" just like I did. 

Challenge #1: Calendar Conundrums - Mastering the Art of Time

Keeping track of family schedules, appointments, and events is a real juggling act. We obviously came to the conclusion that nothing really beats a calendar, so we mastered time by creating a calendar management system that lets you easily schedule and sync events, set reminders, and even coordinate activities with your loved ones. No more missed soccer practices or double-booked dinner dates 😉

Challenge #2: Activity & Task Tracking - Conquering the Chore Mountain

Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount of things it requires to be a functioning adult?! We see you. Managing a mountain of activities and tasks within your home is overwhelming. That’s why we were laser focused on building a powerful activity and task tracking feature. Whether it's assigning chores, organizing projects, or tracking personal goals, eeva keeps everything in one place. You can easily create, assign, and monitor tasks, and eeva helps ensure nothing falls through the cracks (or rots in the fridge) 👀

Challenge #3: Central Information Access - The Quest for Knowledge

Do you find yourself searching high and low for important information like Wi-Fi passwords, contractor information, or your favorite recipe? I know I’m not alone in this, we have all spent a lot of time looking for things in our lives. Frantically rummaging through drawers, sticky notes strewn across the fridge, finding nothing as you search through your email. Ugh. We’re so over that, too. We made sure eeva’s raison d’être is holding onto all of your most essential home information, a hub of sorts that makes it so easy to find all the things you need. You can store and quickly access things like household manuals, service providers' contact information, and even your secret recipe collection. No more chaos, only peace 😮‍💨

We loved addressing these challenges because there are too many people who deal with this and don’t have to. We truly think you deserve to do better things with your precious time! That’s what sparked the idea for eeva in the first place, and why we are also committed to sharing our journey so transparently — to create a community of people who also believe there’s gonna a better way.
